| Ixtapa / Valley |
| The town of Ixtapa is located outside Puerto Vallarta close to the border with the state of Nayarit. Access to Ixtapa is via the east-bound road from the Airport road (just after Home Depot). This same region is sometimes also referred to as the "Valley" or "Airport Valley". Similar to El Pitillal, the Ixtapa/Valley areas have a very Mexican (non-tourism) feel, but with less charm than El Pitillal. Having said this, as the Ixtapa area grows, like all towns within the Banderas Bay, there are a number of residential and housing developments being construction at lower retail prices than more central areas. Real Estate in both these areas is generally limited to houses and building lots, at lower prices than other areas. PROs : - Fast growing zone, good investments with low prices - Strong area for the national market - New Guadalajara highway passes through Ixtapa - Close to all services (shops, hospitals, airport, bus station ...)
